TCS IT Wiz, India’s Biggest Inter School IT Quiz To Be Held On November 16 :

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions firm, announced that New Delhi’s edition of TCS IT Wiz 2013 will be held on Saturday, November 16, at Dogra Hall, Indian Institute of Technology (#IIT), New Delhi.

The event is open to all school students studying in class 8-12 (including Pre University of Junior college students). There is no entry fee. Each institution is allowed to send multiple teams of two-members each to participate.

This year through the TCS IT Wiz, the hunt for smart Tech Wizard will be held across 14 locations across the country - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune.

The winners of the Tech Wizard from each of these 14 locations will contest for the “Smart Tech Wizards 2013” title in the Mega finals to be held in December. The winners of the UAE edition will also compete in this Mega finals for the title.

Follow us on Twitter: TCS ITWizTCS IT Wiz Format: The written prelims are a common set of 20 questions for all the teams at the venue. Questions are in the oral, visual and audiovisual form. Participants will answer the preliminary written round on pre-printed answer sheets given by TCS.

Final: The top six teams from the written prelim will qualify for final. Only the top scoring team from each school will be called on stage in the event that multiple teams from the same school qualify for the final. The winner from these six regional teams will compete in the Mega Finals to be held in December.

The 2013 TCS IT Wiz Regional champion will walk away with an iPad each while the runners-up will be rewarded a Tab along with a specially designed winner’s trophy and the runner’s up trophy. The six finalists will also receive an array of prizes from TCS ranging from double duffle gym bag, headphones, USB pen drive, notebook speakers, and more.

The regional finals will also have a Twitter contest for all the participants and two winners will receive a notebook speaker each.

Subject: The Quiz will focus on applications of Information Technology across various sectors such as world of Internet and unique web sites, IT buzzwords and acronyms, IT Personalia - international, national and local, advertisements of IT and communication companies, software products and brands, history of IT as well as the humorous side of IT.
